The Sunday Sinners
By Lyle Sheraton
Owner/Operator, The Tic Tac Ballroom
The first time I saw the Sunday Sinners I was on a first date with a really good looking girl I was looking to score with. The moment they started playing everything got easier. Conversation flowed, her hand was on my leg, everything was wonderful. Suddenly all at once my girl's hips were swaying to the swinging soulfull beat and like magic we found ourselves on the dance floor, doing the hully gully with reckless abandon! What was happening? Heart busting lead vocals and Oh Yeah back ups riding the crest of chunk-a-chunk guitar riffs, all beating along to a rockin' R n' B rhythm! Like wild moths to a vibrating flame, we, and every other living body in the house was moving in harmony with the sensational shakin' beat coming from the stage. And the ladies in the band, whoa now! Me and my girl were getting hot just looking at the platters in front of us, stroking their intruments like the very harps of Heaven in some sexy new afterlife. And they cover songs by the likes of Sugar Pie Desanto! Needles to say, I got laid, and have the Sunday Sinners to blame. You should be so lucky.
